Italy in 11 Pics

According to something I stumbled upon the other day, you should vary your blog entries with pictures. Apparently people don’t like to read a whole block of text all the time. So… Here are some Florence pictures!n589645103_5752763_2592

This is the smallest car in Florence.. it was yellow, small and funny to look at.

florence-127And look at this! frigging Michelangelo’s David. Went to see him and he is HUGE. You’re not meant to take pics, but I took a sneak one from a distance down the hall. Trust me, he’s huge!

florence-149This is the Piazzo in Florence, big town square, they just have random sculptures hanging around for no reason at all. Very cultured.

florence-281This was the top of the Bobboli Gardens, one of the highest points of the city. These are the gates which take you through the top so… they were pretty…

n589645103_5754042_9439This was outside the Bobboli Gardens. We had umbrellas with us. I noticed 2 of us had greenish ones and the rest had black, so it could make for a photo. I’m on the far left holding my green umbrella! I’m sure other tourists might have thought we were crazy. Especially cuz it wasn’t raining at the time.

florence-211A car carved out of wood that we found in a little old fashioned ye olde toy shoppe type place lol

n589645103_5753004_2575Art, obviously…

florence-156These are people who live in Florence (oooooh), outside the Uffizi Palace. I thought they looked cool the way they were standing so I took a picture…

pict4597Yours truly… this was the face that defined the whole gallery-trekking part of the experience: Tired and sore legs, giving moody looks to the camera. Only to cheer up when you went to get some of this:

pict4663Italian ice cream!!!! (photography credits go to F for this delicious snapshot). Seriously, you could sit there and happily eat a bucket of this stuff!

So concludes the tour… my Italy in 11 pics. Out of the 400ish I took! Unfortunately, however, photographs can’t get across the smell of drains in the streets or the fact that the rustic-look to everything isn’t as appealing in person as it is in photos, and pictures can’t get across how forward the men are there. You get followed during the night, and then during the day (from as early as 11 a.m. in my case) you can be in a market place and a man feeling you up as he passes. So for a holiday, yes, to live, noo…
